Save to Kindle tip: View PDFs in landscape mode

I tried out the new Save to Kindle for Windows and it just worked. Here’s what I did:

– Downloaded the free software from Amazon and installed it
– This added a new Send to Kindle option after right clicking on an item in Windows Explorer. Send to Kindle is also added as a printer destination.
– Selecting the Send to Kindle option let me choose to send the file (a PDF in my case) to my Kindle or iPad 2. Sending via a WiFi connection is the default. However, there is the option to use WhisperSync for 3G enabled devices.

The PDF document started syncing shortly after I turned on my Kindle. The Kindle’s 6 inch display is a bit too small for easy reading in portrait orientation. Resizing is available. However, since PDF documents do not reflow like ebooks, this forces the reader to scroll horizontally as well as vertical to read a page. I elected to use the ability to switch to landscape viewing. You can see the result below.
