I shared my early impressions of <\/span><b><a href=\"https:\/\/labs.google\/dreambeans\">Google Labs\u2019 &#8220;Dream Beans<\/a>,&#8221;<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> an interesting daily briefing tool that uses AI to generate an illustrated summary of topics it thinks you&#8217;ll find interesting based on your activity. While the illustrations are very nice looking and the content relevant, the app is currently very phone-centric, lacking the landscape orientation optimization I\u2019d expect for a tablet experience. I also noted that <\/span><b>Google AI Pro<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> remains a solid value for me at $20 a month.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">A major portion of the episode was dedicated to my &#8220;credit crunch&#8221; rant regarding <\/span><b>Microsoft Copilot<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. I discovered that <a href=\"https:\/\/support.microsoft.com\/en-us\/microsoft-365-copilot\/ai-credits-and-limits-for-microsoft-365-subscriptions\">Microsoft\u2019s 365 family plan only provides <\/a><\/span><b>60 AI credits per month<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, and the &#8220;intentional use&#8221; policy is aggressive. According to Copilot itself, credits can be consumed simply by <\/span><b>opening the app<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, syncing handwriting from an e-ink tablet to OneNote, or even having the AI suggest a grammar fix you don&#8217;t actually use. This led me to explore <\/span><b>Obsidian<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> as a OneNote alternative, as it offers free handwriting plugins without the credit overhead. Jon suggested a sustainable path forward: using AI to build <\/span><b>offline scripts or tools<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> that perform data manipulation locally to avoid recurring token costs.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">We also looked at the hardware horizon, specifically Microsoft\u2019s announcement of <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/commandline.microsoft.com\/project-solara-build-2026\/\"><b>Project Solera<\/b><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u2014AI-powered badges and desktop displays\u2014and the new <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/nvidianews.nvidia.com\/news\/nvidia-microsoft-windows-pcs-agents-rtx-spark\"><b>Nvidia RTX Spark PCs<\/b><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. These machines are purpose-built for local AI, boasting a petaflop of performance to run personal agents offline. Finally, with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.macrumors.com\/guide\/wwdc-2026-what-to-expect\/\">Apple <\/a><\/span><b>WWDC<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> just around the corner, we shared our hopes for the long-promised &#8220;personal context&#8221; updates to <\/span><b>Siri<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. Jon is also eagerly awaiting his pre-ordered <\/span><b>Clicks communicator<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and keyboard, while I continue to hold out hope for a <\/span><b>MacBook Neo<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> with a backlit keyboard and a desktop Mac Neo.
