U.S. Defense Department standardized on an ancient version of Android

Muktware.com believes that the U.S. DoD’s choice to standardize on Android is a setback for iOS. But, it is really a setback for Android too.

Android Approved By Pentagon For DoD Usage, Major Setback For iPhone

Froyo was released on May 20, 2010 and superseded by Android OS 2.3 (Gingerbread) on Dec. 6, 2010. New smartphones based on Android OS 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) are currently emerging from the pipeline. So, the DoD standardized on a version of Android several generations old.
