I used to own an Eee PC 4G - loved it! - but I sold it a while back to make room for a second generation low-cost UMPC. The HP Mini Note sounds quite intriguing, but perhaps it would be better off with XP instead of Vista - this makes more sense now than a few months ago, since Microsoft has formally decided to extend the life of XP just for ultramobile devices like the Eee PC and the Mini Note.

While the competition is busy sorting the field into winners and losers, I've decided to purchase a second hand Dell Latitude L400 to tide me over. I'm quite content with it, it's portable enough and I managed to buy it for a very small fraction of what the 4G had cost me (VERY SMALL). :)

It's running XP, but I was thinking of letting it run on a Linux OS - I'd rather not slow down the system with all the Windows-experience-required security applications. Mr. Ogasawara, would it be easy enough to install a linux distro, say the latest Ubuntu, on this with WiFi capabilities? I ask because I stumbled upon an article you wrote a few years back on this. :)
