Ipod doesn't sync with outlook/exchange. It will just work, yeah right . For what's it worth it's just a piece of hardware that looks very nice but it totally worthless.
I rather have my windows mobile back with active sync , that works . And when it didn't work I could fix it.

:: apple is the new microsoft and without all that damn cash to fund their transformation into the new AT&T we will likely see increasingly innovative ways of extracting more and more cash from our wallets.

Too bad iTunes cannot really sync with Outlook. That would have been a nice feature.

Why not be able to subscribe to iCal feeds over Wi-Fi? Too hard for Apple to do that?

P McM: By "we don't have Outlook anymre (sic)", I'm assuming you either mean you personally don't use Outlook or that Windows Mobile devices do not ship with Outlook anymore (which I agree is a bad idea). Outlook 2007 does exist, of course. And, older versions of Outlook can still be used with Vista's WMDC (or XP's ActiveSync). I agree that Microsoft should provide a better out-of-the-box first-day sync solution.

Well, I jailbroke my iPod Touch, and you know, this thing is can be better than most Windows Mobile classic devices. It is certainly thinner! I continue to be amazed by Safari, and the web sites designed specifically for Safari really shine compared to some of the Windows Mobile specific sites (thinking of Mobile MSN for example.)

You can download the upgrade file from Apple if you wish, it has just not been set to distribute in iTunes yet. It can be found here: http://appldnld.apple.com.edgesuite.net/content.info.apple.com/iPod/SBML/osx/bundles/061-4036.20071107.9g3DF/iPod1,1_1.1.2_3B48b_Restore.ipsw

It is a 158mb download. I wish Apple would keep up with their other promise to get Flash going on the iPhone/Touch. I am going to wait till iJailbreak is upgraded because I can't live without Apples Mail program and Google Maps on the iPod Touch now. Notes, Stocks and the weather apps are hard to beat too. I love using a third party terminal app on the Touch to login to my desktop Mac and run unix commands from the confort of my Lazyboy. It even plays audio and video too ;-)
